Favorite app I have ever downloaded but the one problem I do have is substitution options. Some places just don’t have some ingredients and it would be awesome if they at least offered 1 or 2 substitutions just in case.

It is the best free app I found and it works great
Worked ok but it got to be the same food and recipes over and over again. Seemed to be a lot of work to enter my own recipes and ingredients. Stopped using before my subscription ended.
At the start I liked this app, however after using it, the app continually tells me to go out and buy $100+ in groceries every week when I have food in my pantry. Last week I needed by some 4 chicken breast for food. The market was having a deal and I got $2.50 off/lb so I doubled up and put them into the freezer. Same with my BOGO broccoli. I add the 10 breasts to my pantry and know I’ve been trying to get the app to recognize that I have food in my pantry. But instead it constantly suggests other things like T-Bone steaks, yogurt and peaches, tuna, and everything but what I have in my pantry. What was the point of adding things to my pantry if you are going to use it? What happens when the store only has 5 chicken breast in a package and I only need 4 for the week? The app doesn’t recognize it.
PROS: This is the only app that's just worked for me. It gets me and I get it. It's a great app just give it a shot CONS: Bad UI/UX , if they improved the UI/UX I think the Apple would be well received by many.
Using this app to track my calories, fat, and etc. has really helped me to improve my diet and overall weight loss, health, and mood.
I’d 100% give a 5 star if you would add a few changes. I would like to create a meal from the foods I have under breakfast/lunch/dinner, etc. so where it says add foods or copy. I’d like it to also have an option to “make these foods a meal” so I can use it later. Even better if you can select foods not to add into it the saved meal. Other than that, a massive time saving feature in my other apps like the lose It app is the ability to speak what I ate in one swoop vs typing it all in. Then it allows you to swap or edit if the program misunderstood you and change the amounts. That’s all for now. I hope to see these soon! Great app!
Tried it and was disappointed. Recommend to download Mealime. Much better, user friendly, and a lot cheaper with better meals.
Love this app. It’s easy to use and very helpful with my grocery shopping. Wish I could use it with or link it with my husband. So we can keep track of our meals together.
Meal planning is rough as a family. especially when trying to lose weight and not break bank on a lot of groceries. The ability to have a list of groceries and recipes lined up for the week for your goals is the best. Have lost weight with the app and will continue to use the app to help with meal planning.
Portion control turned out to be the key to my issues! I’m down 10 pounds and the food tastes great. I wish I could eat more of it, but this app makes sure you know your boundaries, which is what a lot of us need.
This app is fantastic. Easiest way to follow your macros and set a meal plan.
What an absolute rip off! Paid $59.99 for Premium back in July. Now the app tells me I need to “Upgrade to premium for more features!” Paraphrasing: “You know! The ones you already paid for!” Seriously?! You sure you wouldn’t rather repossess my car?! Perhaps you’d like the deed to my house?! Why don’t YOU eat THIS much! If it was any good it might almost be worth the hassle. There are good recipes in there, to be sure, but they’re buried under a mountain of mediocre or even bad ones. The planner relies heavily on protein powder. The whole reason to have a meal planner in the first place is to eat mostly whole foods and not rely so heavily on protein powder!!! There are usually three items in any given daily plan that rely on that ingredient. Look, it’s cool having recipes for that kinda thing, but if your daily meal plan has more than one item with protein powder in it, you’re doing it wrong! I thought I’d be able to add some of my own recipes, making it easier to set those meals and generate a grocery list, but holy cow was it a monumental hassle trying to create them. I’d say the only worthwhile thing about the app is being able to peruse the recipes for ideas and inspiration. As far as I know that part is free, but I’d gladly pay a modest annual fee of $5-$10 for the privilege. I definitely will NOT be “upgrading” to “premium”, however, especially in light of the fact that they’ve basically already stolen $60 from me.
This app isn’t telling me how much sugar I’ve been eating and it’s letting me eat over 130 grams of sugar a day! And there’s no way that I can restrict sugar intake in the app either. Also, it keeps giving me repeating meals over and over again. I would like my money back if possible because I payed 60 dollars and I do not want to keep it for a whole year. Overall this app is nice, but I am really concerned about the sugar intake because that is not healthy at all but i’m just eating what is put on the planner for each week.
I noticed there’s only a completely lazy option with a desk job or hard core workout with a physically demanding job..I don’t go out of my way to exercise but do physical factory labor job so I’m not sure what one applies to myself. But the app looks good otherwise.
My son has a lot of food allergies and eating for our family is not a fun experience. Meals are always the same boring stuff and we have to do a lot of meal prepping. Friend recommended this because you can put the food exclusions in and it supposedly generates meals around them. But it doesn’t. For example, my son is allergic to blueberries. Listed it as an exclusion. Saved it. Meal plans listed a blueberry smoothie multiple times throughout the week. Attempted to “regenerate” meal plan, but then other eclipses with his other food allergies would appear. So basically, it’s a no for us. Might work for someone who doesn’t have so many allergies.
this app is seriously life changing! with some exercise at least 3 times a week, this app could change your life style. quick tip, eat every 4-5 hours and try to do exercise daily or 3 times a week like i said before. please try this app out if your struggling with fat loss or weight loss and/or if you're about to give up.
I really like this app so far. Most people probably came to it out of weight loss desires but my husband and I are both underweight but interested in eating better and possibly getting into a healthier weight range. I thought the calories and macros were interesting. I stayed for the truly easy recipes! Oftentimes recipe apps are filled with weird things that are too hard and I wouldnt like. This app seriously has easy, basic, but yummy suggestions! Many are 5 ingredients or less. Also lots of smoothies too if you’re into that. My only complaint is the portion sizes are often odd and so you have to be careful not to waste food. One recipe asked for 3/16th of a tortilla?? It’s hard when a food comes in one size (a lb of beef, for example) and the app has you use 1/4 lb and not any more for the rest of the week. Just something to keep an eye on. Healthy shopping is already expensive without wasting any. I think it’s up to the consumer to adjust and change recipes to use up the rest of the portions.
I’m not sure why but I’ve been logged out of our account and I can’t seem to log into our Eat This Much using my husband’s Apple ID. On PC/Web it works, though. Any way you could fix this? Can we somehow do family plans if this isn’t a possibility? I need this on my phone and iPad for when I’m in the kitchen…
I love the app, but there's one major issue. Some foods can only be bought in bulk at the grocery store. When I end up with more of an ingredient than I need, I'd like the app to prioritize using that ingredient in upcoming meals. Currently, the app doesn’t adjust recipes to use up ingredients that are in excess, so I have to manually search for meals that will help reduce those items in my pantry. Ideally, the app should automatically generate meals that utilize these ingredients if I indicate that I have a surplus. Alternatively, there could be a button to highlight the ingredient or to select an option for more recipes that use it up.
Still love this app for nutrition and planning!
For the past year most of my meals have been fast food. Eventually I started craving healthier options but I realized it's hard to find unless you cook. This app has made it easy for me to cook and prepare for the week. Tasty and healthy recipes with the macros already planned for you.
It’s okay so far.
This app cost money atleast the fancy diets dont cost money like just make your own diet
im 15 how do you expect me to be able to make anythign recommended to me?? i dont have a job and all of it looks really expensive
Steps, food recommendation, and nutrition facts all in one. Amazing app and great for price
The app claimed to offer a 14-day free trial but they charged my card immediately and apparently that's not a good enough reason for a refund.
I was no longer using the Eat This Much app, so I ended my subscription. Which was easy enough to do in the app. I was concerned about the confirmation screen, which gave no information that the subscription that was canceled was my account. I became concerned that at the time of renewal they would attempt to renew my subscription so I went ahead and made the decision to delete my account. But when I deleted my account within the app, it just appeared to sign me out. There was no confirmation and no email confirming deletion. Something has changed about how user-friendly this app is. In the past, I’ve always received email confirmations of account changes. Feels a little scammy.
I was anorexic from my freshmen year up to my senior year in Highschool. I was weak, and my vital signs were out. I’d never dreamed of a world where I’d eat ever again, but that was before I was blessed with this app. My best friend came across an ad for Eat This Much and immediately thought of me. She, along with many others who love me, convinced (forced) me to give it a try. I loved it. Before anorexia, I loved to be in the kitchen. Being able to make meals easily by myself again made me so happy. At first it was hard, but now I am able to eat again and feel thin, without a trace of guilt in my mind. I highly recommend this app, especially to those who are struggling with eating problems of all kinds.
This app is filled with false info about certain products and its meals tend to mess up the calculations for smaller portions, it also fells extremely limited and is hard to find good recipes, some of the recipes are very vague too incuding ingredients like “ mayonnaise like dressing” and when you try to buy it is claims as unavailable.
☹️ even when I put variety in the settings, I’m getting the same recipes 4-6 times a week, sometimes even the same exact thing for lunch and dinner on the same day 😒. I can’t find a way to fix this, so I’ve cancelled my subscription until this issue is fixed. UPDATE: issue still not fixed but it’s only been like a week lols 😭 fix repetitiveness in weekly menus please!🙏
Doesn’t make sense that you block all of the meals for the rest of the week? Like what am I gonna do go to the grocery store every day 😭 but other than that the app is ok!
Super functional and I like that you can change a meal but still reach the calorie goal! Only thing is I wish there was a widget for this as that would really help remind me to follow the planner. Thanks!
This app does have a learning curve (about 20 minutes), but once you get the hang of it, it becomes a treasure trove of information and a lifesaver for meal planning. I enjoy adding my recipes, getting macro and calorie counts, and having other recipes fill in around them. It’s been a lifesaver on my lazy keto journey so far!
They overcharged me back in September, and I never got my money back. Super disappointed
This app is nice for weight loss but I dunno sometimes the food options are pretty bland and tasteless but obviously you can season your food more but sometimes it’s a bit worrying because I don’t want to eat excessive calories. But overall it’s nice
The app is great, however I wish that there was a Pescatarian option to choose from the “Primary Diet Type” options. Without it, I have to manually go in and filter my preferences, exclusions, etc on food when I feel like it should be listed as a diet type since it’s a popular diet type and would make things easier for the user.
I love the ideas and ease of use however the app is not good for a restricted diet. I’ve tried blocking foods, adding them to an exclusion list, adding the foods I do like to a favorites list to no avail. I’ll still get a full day of foods I don’t have access to or can’t eat currently. I also was charged even though I signed up for the free trial so that took off another star. If this app could actually follow my restrictions it might actually be worth the price to upgrade. I did like being able to set macros for different days since I was using this to try cycle syncing that was very helpful. Since I had to put each meal together myself it was not as useful as it could have been. I also liked being able to add my own recipes and my own foods.
This app has almost everything I want. The servings vs amounts vs amount to fix sections are unclear. Never sure how my Quanties for purchasing vs keeping track of nutrients amounts are not always in sync. I’m sure it’s the settings so my complaint is this app needs a user guide online that I can make sense of The grocery list is for all things needed. I figured how to go to print a pdf and add groceries. That generates a list but you would think the groceries tab would get you a correct list for the week. It’s there but you have to go to share a pdf or print. Should be easier. Biggest complaint is your calories amounts. Often I check online for an item you have listed and your amount is a lot higher. Example a single avocado. I would like a feature to change this Work around is to change amount but then you have to leave a note to purchase the whole item. I would like to be able to have a separate item list. As I use or add foods in my list would be only foods I use etc. This could be the changeable list when I find an avocado and add the correct calorie content. Love the meal planning and tracking features.
The new UI doesn’t have all the features of the old one. You can’t categorize pantry ingredients in the app or new mobile UI. The app is clunky and hard to navigate. Some interactions trap you into deadends. Overall a painful demoralizing experience. Don’t waste your time.
This app will let you customize meal planning around dietary preference, calories, and macros. The recipes are great. The grocery list is a life saver. AND it has an integration with shopping apps so you can export your grocery list to, for example, instacart! For me, this is the most useful app I have ever seen. And it just works. I haven't seen anything buggy yet. Worth every penny for a subscription. I signed up for the yearly at $60.
This app is false advertisement
guys went under maintenance right when I was in the middle of making a recipe, not cool dude 🫤
I started tracking macros and ended with the same meals, it was time consuming and stressful, but I found this app and it’s been amazing! I eat delicious and it’s so easy to plan and cook super easy recipes. I would like to know how to replace or omit a single ingredient but I’m still learning to use it.
When I first signed in I entered my personal info and got how many calories I should be eating when I wanted to “lose weight”. I was supposed to be eating 1100 calories. That’s less than a literal toddler. I’m sorry but when it said that without the app even knowing my body fat percentage or EVEN BASIC NEEDS. I knew this app wouldn’t be good. I didn’t even have to go to the “free trial” which also costs you money even though it says free. I just think this is dangerous for people trying to lose weight because eating at such low calories is crazy
Best app for choosing food and groceries, just wish it was a little cheaper then $60 a yr
I love what this app does—calculates macros, sugar, vitamins, and more; allows me to save my own recipes, creates a weekly shopping list… and I use the generated meals for ideas, but I usually tweak them a lot. The only problem is that the app often freezes, crashes, or tells me it can’t connect to my Wi-Fi. I have to reboot my phone to make it functional again. I’m not having that problem with any other app, so I don’t think it’s my phone or my Wi-Fi.
Very user friendly and plenty of recipes to choose from. Can customize the dishes too. Only drawback is that the subscription options are misleading. It says there’s a free limited version and a premium subscription for access to advanced features. However upon creating an account, I was only given the option to choose the premium subscription.
Good stuff. Really takes the decision making and guess work outta moving to a healthier diet. Stoked it makes grocery lists too.
